The throat plate on the Grizzly G1023Z is 1/2" thick. This thick throat plate is 3/4" thick for extra strenght & safety when performaing a high blade cut. The plate extends 1/4" below the plate holding wings. The above link shows a series of how to make the thick plate and how to install the integrated splitter. The splitter is from MesaVista, costs only $7, and works like a charm. |
Zero Clearance Plates for any angle or dado makes for no chip out cuts and adds a factor of safety I keep a few blanks handy for when I need to make a different size that is not already on hand. |
